Instagram je že več kot desetletje priljubljen oglasni prostor. Ljudje preprosto ne gledamo več TV (oz. jo gledamo z zamikom in preskakujemo oglase), ne beremo tiskanih medijev in smo na splošno siti težkih vsebin. Tudi zaradi “priročnosti” vse več časa preživimo na družbenih omrežjih. In kje drugje bomo izvedeli za novosti, kot tam, kjer se najraje zadržujemo? Ko na Instagramu dosežeš določeno število sledilcev, te podjetja začnejo vabiti k sodelovanju. Tisti, z večjim številom sledilcev, svoje objave zaračunajo, manjšim pa podjetja večinoma ponujajo affiliate kode za popuste, preko katerih lahko izdelke kupite ugodneje. Šrilanka je popularna popotniška destinacija že desetletja in vsakdo med nami gotovo pozna nekoga, ki je tam že bil. Ravno zato (delno pa tudi zato, ker nima tipičnih »maldivskih« plaž) ta otoška država v Indijskem oceanu nikoli ni kotirala visoko na listi držav, ki jih želim obiskati. Ampak splet okoliščin je nanesel, da sva jo letos februarja vendarle obiskala in se odpravila na 10-dnevno potovanje po Šrilanki s tuk-tukom.
