Hiking is one of my favorite addictions. I’ll probably never climb Mt. Everest; however, I do sweat in the mountains a lot, so I do know a thing or two about safety and how to use basic hiking equipment. Sure, at first, I thought a pair of cotton leggings, a T-shirt and tennis shoes would do just fine. But the deeper I fell in love with hiking, the more I realized I needed to get proper outdoor apparel and at least some basic equipment to hike safely. Because only safe and responsible hiking allows you to enjoy the journey and the rewarding views at the top. In this post I will introduce my basic day hiking gear for beginners and […]
Let’s be honest: not many tourists visit Johannesburg just “per se”. This vibrant South African city has had a very bad reputation being one of the world’s most dangerous cities. So, if you are searching for things to do in Johannesburg, you are probably trying to kill time on the way to Kruger national park or some other game reserve. Meanwhile you are wondering whether it is safe to spend the night in Johannesburg and to walk around the city. In this post you will find 5 things to do in Johannesburg in 48 hours, as well as some tips that will help you decide if spending some time in the largest city in South Africa is a good idea […]
When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, most of people aim to lose weight, quit smoking, do more exercise … or something else, mostly health-related. Well, I have been a good girl for years now and I am well aware that healthy lifestyle is a journey, not just something you promise to yourself (and usually fail) every year 😉 Instead of making resolutions, I decided to come up with a bucket list of 7 destinations I want to visit and 7 activities I want to do in the next 7 years. As I mentioned in my post about my travel favorites, my goal is not to visit all countries in the world, but it is pretty damn close. And since […]
I have visited 4 continents, 50 countries and 20 states in the past 15 years. Not bad for someone who only has 24 days off work per year, right? Well, there is simply not enough time to see everything (as I say in my Instagram bio: “someone has to pay the bills”), and some places are so wonderful that I just HAVE TO keep coming back. I have created a list of “My travel favorites”, where you can get the feeling what type of traveler I am and hopefully add one of them to your bucket list as well. After all, you are here to get some new travel tips, right? 😉 So, my travel favorites are … 1. MY […]
Whether I am traveling on business or for pleasure, my biggest challenge is to find the perfect combination of the price and time to reach my final destination. Because time is money and wasted time is the most expensive. Therefore, I always carefully check the details of my connecting flights and I am ready to pay some extra money to make the layover shorter. Unfortunately, that is not always possible – either there are no alternative options or the price for the shorter transfer time is ridiculously high. So, there I am, stuck at the airport, sitting in that uncomfortable chair, drinking that awful coffee and counting the minutes that I have left until my free Wi-Fi session expires … […]

My moto is: “You only have one life. Don’t waste it by doing things you don’t like.” Actually this is just one of my mottos, but for my “upside down” chapter it will do just fine. Now let me tell you what I am trying to show with my handstands every place I go.
