I am sure everyone has watched or at least heard of the Mission Impossible film series. Remember one of the scariest moments in the “Fallout” (2018) with Tom Cruise hanging from a cliff? Well, that cliff does exist and it is called Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock. Due to its amazing structure and relatively easy access, hike to Preikestolen is one of Norway’s most famous hikes. It was also the first hike on our West Norway road trip adventure, and it was everything I had hoped it would be. You can find tons of information about this hike online, so I will try to cut thing short and sum up the most important things to know before hiking to Preikestolen.
Hotel review: Lilland Brewery Hotel (Tau, Norway)
When I was searching for a hotel near Preikestolen, there were not many options to choose from, as it was almost a last-minute trip. We wanted to start the hike to Preikestolen early in the morning so we didn’t want to waste too much time driving from Stavanger. Lilland Brewery hotel was one of the few descent options with private bathroom at affordable cost. The location seemed convenient as well, so I booked a double-bed room for one night. We were pleasantly surprised!
Hotel review: Moxy Bergen (Bergen, Norway)
Did you know that Bergen is the rainiest city in Europe? Having that in mind, we didn’t want to spend too much time getting wet, but we still needed a good base camp to start our Western Norway trip. We landed in Bergen late afternoon and our plan was to drive towards Stavanger first thing in the morning. Moxy Bergen hotel seemed to offer a fair combination of the location, guest rates and reasonable prices. In reality, Moxy Bergen is one of the coolest hotels I’ve stayed at. That’s why we spontaneously decided to spend our last night there as well.
Frequent questions about Safari in South Africa
Going on safari is definitely not something that just happens overnight. Unless you live in South Africa where you can simply take a self-drive in one of the national parks. (those lucky bastards!) Having to fly to another continent is a totally different thing, speaking from logistic and financial point of view. After returning from my third visit to SA, in the middle of Covid-19 pandemics, I got a lot of new questions.* Hence, a new post with the most frequent questions about safari, including those about traveling to South Africa during coronavirus situation.
Naučila sem se latinska imena rib, z njim sem gledala nogomet, smučanje in skoke, poslušala sem Led Zeppelin in Rolling Stonese. Vse z namenom, da bi z njim preživela vsaj nekaj ur na teden. (Oprosti mami, ampak ti si bila res naporna, čeprav vem, da si mi želela vse najboljše in za to ti bom večno hvaležna. 😉 )
Hiking tips for beginners: safety and equipment
Since hiking is one of my favorite addictions, I’ll simply start with: Hi, I am Anda. Hiking beginners, consider yourself warned. 😉 However, despite its growing popularity, hiking is not something to be taken lightly. Sooner or later you’ll find yourself either lost, thursty, cold, wet or in the dark. And believe me, at one point it won’t be fun. In the past years I’ve learned that only safe and responsible hiking allows you to enjoy the journey and the rewarding views at the top. Don’t repeat my rookie mistakes and read the most important hiking tips for beginners, including basic equipment and clothes.
Alpine Princess story: Interview with Sandra Šuc
I »e-met« Sandra Šuc on Instagram about two years ago through her Alpine Princess brand. At that time, she had just started to promote her first line of outdoor leggings and she asked me if I wanted to test them. And the rest is history. I have been following Alpine Princess story on instagram ever since and I am happy to see it grow so fast. Both, me and Sandra were born and raised in Slovenia and this is one of the reasons I decided to support her in the first place. However, my love for the brand has surpassed the “patriotism” motive long ago. With no doubt in my mind I can say that Alpine Princess leggings are amongst the best in the category of women outdoor outfit. Follow me on Instagram and see for yourself. 😉
