Maldives Fairytale

Ah, Maldives. What can be said about this tropical paradise that hasn’t already been written? Or better yet, are words even enough to describe this heaven on Earth? Well, for one thing – every island is a little bit different and each traveler has his own idea of paradise. I have visited Maldives 3 times and I can say with no doubt in my mind that I will keep coming back. After all I have added the islands in my travel favorites list. Because Maldives represent everything that a beach lover like me needs to recover from everyday stress I have to put up with. SHORT INTRODUCTION Maldives lie in the middle of Indian Ocean, southwest of India, comprising a […]

Resort review: Royal Island Resort & Spa (Baa Atoll, Maldives)

We visited Maldives in combination with India’s Golden Triangle for my birthday in February. Since this was my 3rd time to visit the islands, I knew exactly what I wanted: 1. air transfer to the island, 2. all-inclusive option with Wi-Fi and fitness facilities, 3. private beach villa with sea-view, 4. an island big enough to have a decent walk around it and 5. reef sharks – I am in love with the little beasts. Royal Island Resort & Spa seemed to have it all so I booked a 6 nights vacation through a travel agency which has helped me with my last Maldives booking. If you want to do the reservation yourself, you can get 15€ discount by booking through […]

Resort Review: Adaaran Select Meedhupparu (Raa Atoll, Maldives)

After the destination for our short winter escape was set, I searched for the options which could offer us the best combination of stunning beaches, all-inclusive options and hydroplane transport to the island. For a reasonable price, if that word is even allowed when travelling to Maldives. I hesitated between the Sun Island, Barefoot Eco Hotel and Adaaran Select Meedhupparu. With no doubt in my mind I can say that I made the best possible choice.

Safari in South Africa

Going on safari in Africa has been on my bucket list since forever. I always thought I would do my first one in Kenya or Tanzania, but after a deep research I decided that safari in South Africa is the best option for beginners. Planning a safari trip is quite a challenge itself; in fact, you need to ask yourself a lot of questions even before you start planning your itinerary. Which country is best for safari, should I do it alone or with an agency, how many days do I need, will I see all the animals, is safari dangerous and similar questions that probably brought you to my blog.

Resort review: Vuyani Safari Lodge (Hoedspruit, South Africa)

After the decision about safari in South Africa was finally made, I started harassing different properties with the most important question: “Will I see the lions?” While some properties didn’t even bother to respond, most of them told me that they cannot guarantee lion encounter. Bernard from Vuyani Safari Lodge was a bit more specific: “I can’t guarantee you will see them; however, our guests are usually very lucky with lion spotting.” I already had my eyes on this property due to their good ratings and enjoyable sense of humor on their web page and social media accounts. Having discussed the details with Bernard was the ultimate deal breaker, so I booked 5 days in Vuyani Safari lodge honeymoon suite. […]

My bucket list for next 7 years

When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, most of people aim to lose weight, quit smoking, do more exercise … or something else, mostly health-related. Well, I have been a good girl for years now and I am well aware that healthy lifestyle is a journey, not just something you promise to yourself (and usually fail) every year 😉 Instead of making resolutions, I decided to come up with a bucket list of 7 destinations I want to visit and 7 activities I want to do in the next 7 years. As I mentioned in my post about my travel favorites, my goal is not to visit all countries in the world, but it is pretty damn close. And since […]

My travel favorites

I have visited 4 continents, 50 countries and 20 states in the past 15 years. Not bad for someone who only has 24 days off work per year, right? Well, there is simply not enough time to see everything (as I say in my Instagram bio: “someone has to pay the bills”), and some places are so wonderful that I just HAVE TO keep coming back. I have created a list of “My travel favorites”, where you can get the feeling what type of traveler I am and hopefully add one of them to your bucket list as well. After all, you are here to get some new travel tips, right? 😉 So, my travel favorites are … 1. MY […]
