Weekend in Miami

Miami is one of those cities that is probably on everyone’s bucket list. With its warm sunny days, wide sandy beach, hundreds of clubs and cozy southern vibes, Miami is ideal for a winter escape when the weather in northern hemisphere is cold and dull. It is also a very frequent stopover for international flights or the starting point of Caribbean islands cruises. If you are one of those travelers who can’t stand still or if you only have a couple of days to spend, long weekend in Miami is a very good idea. In this post I will share some tips how to visit the city, where to stay, how much it all costs and 5 things to do […]

5 things to do in Johannesburg, South Africa

Let’s be honest: not many tourists visit Johannesburg just “per se”. This vibrant South African city has had a very bad reputation being one of the world’s most dangerous cities. Meanwhile you are wondering whether it is safe to spend the night in Johannesburg and to walk around the city. 5 things to see in Grand Teton National Park

Be honest, how many of you have heard of the Grand Teton National Park? I haven’t. At least not until I started planning our October trip to the US. While searching for a place to stay near Yellowstone, I “discovered” there was another but smaller park very close by. Since it was literally on the way from Jackson Hole Airport to Yellowstone, I browsed briefly through the photos and I was instantly hooked. When I saw those yaw-dropping photos of skyscraping mountain peaks I knew we had to spend at least one day in Grand Teton. Unfortunately, that was all we could afford due to our busy schedule. If you also have limited time to explore or you are just […]

A day trip from Las Vegas to the Valley of Fire

Whether you are traveling from Utah or Arizona to Nevada, or you’re just sick of gambling in Vegas, you should put a trip to Valley of Fire on your “to do” list. I have done both – I’ve seen all major national parks in this area, and I have traveled to Vegas 5 years in a row due to an exhibition (comes with my job), and I can tell you that visiting Valley of Fire is something you will not regret. Even though the photos might seem similar to the ones from Red Rock Canyon (another good option for escaping Vegas), Arches or even Zion national park, trust me, Valley of Fire has its own charm and soul. In this […]

A day trip to Red Rock Canyon, Nevada

I have visited Las Vegas several times, mostly for business and shopping. During our last USA road trip in October we had an extra day left before flying back home so we decided to spend the afternoon in Red Rock Canyon. After having seen some of the greatest wonders of nature on our trip, we were a bit skeptical about visiting “just another random canyon”. But we really needed a break from the hustle and bustle of the Strip. Luckily, the Red Rock canyon turned out to be one of the best things to do in Las Vegas.

5 things to do near Makarska Riviera (day trips)

I am sure you have all heard about the country that lies in the central Europe, nestled between Adriatic Sea, Dinaric Alps and Pannonian Basin. Most of people want to visit Croatia during summer for the obvious reasons. There are not a lot of countries in the world where you can choose between hundreds of  islands (Hvar, Brac, Korcula being amongst most popular) or so-called mainland rivieras with beautiful old towns like Dubrovnik or Split. I have visited most of Croatian rivieras (in fact, I visit Opatija almost every month), and I can easily say that Makarska is one of the most beautiful ones in the Adriatic region. Unfortunately, millions of tourists also know this, so prepare to get crowded. […]
