Going on safari in Africa has been on my bucket list since forever. I always thought I would do my first one in Kenya or Tanzania, but after a deep research I decided that safari in South Africa is the best option for beginners. Planning a safari trip is quite a challenge itself; in fact, you need to ask yourself a lot of questions even before you start planning your itinerary. Which country is best for safari, should I do it alone or with an agency, how many days do I need, will I see all the animals, is safari dangerous and similar questions that probably brought you to my blog.
Tiny San Marino
“It’s not enough to imagine it. Come and live it.” A bold statement from such a tiny country, don’t you think? The Republic of San Marino is actually the 5th smallest country in the world. Can you tell the first 4 without using Google? 😉 Anyway, we are talking about a pocket state here, entirely surrounded by Italy, located on a mountain with killer views of Italian landscape and Adriatic Sea. We visited San Marino in the end of April, during our road trip to Italian region Umbria. At first, our plan was only to stay there for a couple of hours but the atmosphere of San Marino old town was so pleasant that we decided to spend the night. […]
Lovely Cambodia
Oh, lovely Cambodia, where do I start? First, I need to say that Cambodia was never on my bucket list. At least until last year when a couple of friends told me about Angkor temples. It took me just a few clicks to realize I needed to see this UNESCO heritage site ASAP. The only question left was: what else to do in Cambodia for one week. Digging deeper for things to do in Cambodia I found a piece of paradise just a short flight away. The island of Koh Rong Sanloem seemed like a perfect choice to escape the European winter and extend Cambodian adventure.
I love New York
The capital of the world. Big Apple. The city that never sleeps. Melting pot. The door to freedom and hope for many immigrants. And the city of disappointments for a lot of people who don’t cope with its challenges. New York. You either love it or hate it. But first of all, you need to feel its pulse to have an opinion. So, are you ready to visit New York and don’t know where to begin? How to reach Manhattan, where to book a hotel, how much it will all cost you? And, most importantly, top things to see in New York if you are in the city for 5 days? You came to the right place, I am a […]
Weekend in Bratislava
Ok folks, first of all, Slovenia and Slovakia are NOT the same countries. Repeat after me: Slovenia and Slovakia are NOT the same countries. Now that we got this straight, let me tell you a few words about Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia (or more accurately Slovak Republic). One of the smallest and coziest European capitals is nestled along the Danube river, just an hour drive from Vienna. Small enough to be handled within one weekend, a perfect stopover on your way to other Eastern European cities (like Budapest, Brno or Prague) or a great starting point for a road trip to Slovak High Tatras – beautiful mountain range in the northern region. Whether you are an architecture lover, history […]
Baltic road trip
In the past couple of years we have been trying to avoid summer heat and crowds in popular tourist destinations, so a road trip to Baltic countries was something waiting to happen. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are all a part of European Union, however they still sound a bit exotic to most of us (speaking from Slovenian point of view). Probably that has a lot to do with all three of them being a part of former Soviet Union and the fact that they are always being addressed as “Baltic”, putting them altogether in one basket. Which proved to be totally unfair. All three countries are fantastic, and each one of them has a lot to offer. Baltic road trip […]
The Taj Mahal Love Story
Although India was never on my bucket list, I did secretly wish to see the grand Taj Mahal, especially after I had learned about the story behind it. Thanks to my boyfriend, who always comes up with great ideas (I know he won’t read this so I might as well give him the credit :P) we made a “small detour” on our way to Maldives this February. Since it was quite a challenge to get all the relevant information about Taj Mahal in one place, I have decided to write a post where I will gather everything you need to know, such as: what time is the best to visit, which gate is best to enter, how to avoid the […]
