Finally, I had the chance to see my favorite band performing live in Prague. Guns \u2018n\u2019 Roses<\/strong> concert was scheduled for Saturday 18th<\/sup> June 2022, so we decided to take a long weekend, combining the event with 2-days of city sightseeing<\/strong>. In term of accommodation,<\/strong> Prague is packed with options, from hostels to high-end hotels, you just need to set your budget and priorities. Mine were: the location, parking, good breakfast, comfort and price performance according to the reviews. We chose Appia Hotel Residences Prague<\/strong> and totally nailed it<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Appia Hotel is located in the historic Lesser Town (Mala Strana)<\/strong>, at the foothills of Prague Castle.<\/strong> The area is very quiet<\/strong>, which makes it perfect for those who want to have a good rest from the busy streets of Prague. Trust me, you’ll need it! 😊<\/p>\n

While Prague Castle and Charles bridge (Karluv most)<\/strong> are less than 10 minutes\u2019 walk away, you can easily order Uber or take public transport to explore the rest of the city. The hotel offers an underground parking garage<\/strong> (it comes cheaper if you book directly<\/a>), and you can also park at the nearby hospital (2-minute walk, pay-by-day parking).<\/p>\n

We found the location perfect<\/strong> for our needs. By the way, you can also walk to the top of Petrin hill<\/strong> right from the hotel, which takes around 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

The hotel<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The residence is a part of ancient church complex from 12th<\/sup> century<\/strong>. While you won\u2019t see anything that reminds of the old church from the outside, there are many wonderful details<\/strong> preserved on the inside.<\/p>\n

Besides the cozy reception <\/strong>(open 24h), the complex also has a lobby bar<\/strong> adjacent to a terrace <\/strong>and lush green garden, fountain<\/strong> and a gazebo<\/strong>. Perfect for romantic chat or some Instagram photos. 😉<\/p>\n

We really appreciated the fresh water and fruits<\/strong> provided at the reception each day. It made us feel warm, especially with the really kind and helpful staff<\/strong> who were always there to help.<\/p>\n

The room<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Appia Hotel Residences offers 22<\/strong> stylishly furnished rooms, suites and apartments. We stayed in a double-room<\/strong> in the new part of the complex, on the ground floor<\/strong> facing the garden. While it seemed a bit awkward at first, with all the big windows in the bedroom, we had no problem with privacy whatsoever.<\/p>\n

The room (or shall I say a small apartment) was very spaciou<\/strong>s and it even came with a small and very handy kitchen<\/strong>. Complimentary tea\/coffee<\/strong> was provided and refilled every day. The bedroom had a king size bed with 2 types of pillows<\/strong>, perfect for my delicate neck. I really liked the stylish \u201cold\u201d d\u00e9cor, from the chairs and sofa, to the details like hanger, lights and curtains.<\/p>\n

The bathroom was small but cozy enough, and it had all the necessities, including hair-dryer and bathrobes. The satellite TV,<\/strong> AC and Wi-Fi<\/strong> were working perfectly.<\/p>\n

The dining pleasures<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The dining hall deserves a special place in this review because it is out of this world<\/strong>. It is located in the attic \u2013 in the 12th<\/sup> century historic hall<\/strong> with original timber beams. The carefully selected chandeliers and furniture can easily take you back in time. Breakfast selection is perfect<\/strong>, from healthy cereals to hot and cold choices for various tastes. I especially loved the rich fruit platter and selected sorts of bread.<\/p>\n

Anda\u2019s rate: 10 out of 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bottom line:<\/em><\/strong> I\u2019m actually not sure what happened here but I literally don\u2019t have any complaints about Appia Hotel Residences. The place is very different from the hotels I am used to, but at the same time its charm and comfort deserve a 10 in my book. If you are traveling to Prague on business or if you can afford a comfortable stay, look no further \u2013 I highly recommend this hotel.<\/p>\n
